Oh air fryer how I love thee…. This baby has been a true game changer for me in the kitchen.
I literally use it everyday…from kale chips to chicken nuggets this baby can really cook up a storm of things.
If you haven’t figured it out by now I am kind of a kitchen appliance junkie!!
Cilantro lime chicken is a recipe that has been in my pocket years before the wonderful world of air frying and one that hubby (Jacob) loves.
In our family we really love the dark meat <3
Seriously, when we go to Popeyes we ask for all thighs… and yes they look at us like we crazy 🙂
Chicken thighs are cheap, flavorful and super easy to work with.
Couple that with the air fryer and magical things happen!!!
This recipe is super easy and a lot quicker than cooking in the oven. (Although that method turns out just as delicious)
First, you want to gather all your ingredients…
I usually have these items on hand for when I need to get something on the table quick.
Start by placing chicken in a large bowl and coat the chicken with olive oil.
Add salt, pepper, garlic, lime juice and chopped cilantro…
Then mix all together.
Now…if you have some time cover and let the chicken marinade in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour.
Set your air fryer to 360 degrees.
Then…
place the chicken skin side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes flip the chicken…
…and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Your chicken should be crispy on the outside nice and juicy on the inside.
Finish it off by garnishing it with fresh cilantro and lime juice.
You can pair it with some quinoa and veggies like Melody or tear it up on its own!!!
Just be sure to enjoy every last bite!!!!
I would love to know how it goes in the comment section below 🙂

Going to try this tonight….but noticed recipe calls for 2-3 tsp garlic….but no mention where it goes. I’m assuming in marinade?
Yes you got it! The garlic goes in the marinade. I would love to hear how it turns out 🙂
Made this with boneless skinless chicken breast…It turned out great. Used the leftover cooked cilantro lime chicken breasts to make a southwestern chicken salad..with black beans and fresh roasted corn. Turned out wonderful!
Trying with chicken thighs tonight!
Yum!!! Southwestern chicken salad, black beans, and fresh roasted corn sound like an amazing combination. I am so glad that you liked it.
wow easy recipe but the results are very satisfying. can’t wait to try the recipe at home
Air fryers are a bomb way to crisp up zucchinis, carrots, squash, and more to give them some added taste and crunch, teaching kids that they don’t always have to run for cover when the veggies come out.
Nice blog and content, I really excited, thanks for share!
I made this recipe today with boneless chicken breast and loved it! Instead of adding salt and pepper to the chicken I used salt and onion powder. I also left the chicken marinading a few hours (around 4-5) which gave it a depth of flavor. The first time I made it, I paired it with air fried sweet potato slices. Now, I’m pairing it with zucchini chips and a salad. Next time I’ll try it with chicken thighs! My favorite part about this is that it’s simple to make, flavorful, and healthy.
